Nibblers/Nippers I can borrow? Mon, 19 April 2004 06:54 Go to next message
I'm not sure what they're called exactly, but does anyone have a pair of nibblers I can borrow? They're the tool that is similar to tin snips, but when it cuts sheet metal it doesn't make it curl - as they have 2 blades on one side with a small gap between, and 1 blade on the other side which goes into the gap.

Thanks

Shears will be your best option for straight cuts. you can also hire nibblers, but most will be punch nibblers that leave a rough edge. I'd let you borrow a set, but I'm in Perth!!!

what about those aircraft tinsnips? the ones with the multi pivot jaw action? they dont curl, you can get them in left and right hand cuts, and also different blade types?

I think I'll just use tin snips/side cutters, and swear lots when it curls and beat it back into shape Smile
too much hassle to actually look, and it's not *that* important... only holds my thermos to the rad.
