well... i have 185's on a 6" rim, and they fit perfectly..
i think 195 on a 5" rim might be a bit of a stretch... and look really odd!!

I have 195/60 on a 5.5 and its a bit bulgy for my liking, so i think this would be even more so on a 5. It will fit but its not exactly optimal. Try a 175 or 185.

I have just had a look at the Pirelli Guide to Tyres and the smallest rim they recommend for a 195 is a 5.5 inch. So, I would not recommend squeezing a 195 onto a 5 inch rim.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Thanks Mitch,
Did you find that guide on the net? It would be handy to have it. Mybe I just have to search "pirelli". I think I am convinced they are to wide for the 5 inch rim.

I got it from a Pirelli tyre dealer about 15 years ago. It lists tyre and rims sizes across the page by overall diameter making +1 +2 +3 +4 a walk in the park.

Cheers guys,
But I actually rang the tyre place and they said it would be fine. As you say it is a little bulgy but not too bad at all (Sorry to go behind your back). I got these Yokohamas at a good price so wacked them on. Having new tyres and the correct offset wheels = light steering My AE82 now feels like it has PS but it doesn't . Better get a wheel alignment before I scrub them out.
PS I much rather a slightly thicker sidewall (i.e. higher profile..no tramtracking etc). I'm not sure how the newer cars that come stock with low profile get around this problem..maybe a lot of time in development
