Need help from people with 4age + turbo

Hey all, i am currently in the process of chucking a turbo onto my smallport 4age, I have a few questions so far.
I am using the RB20 turbo on a custom manifold that me and A-Spec will make and i want to know where i should get feeds and drains for the turbo?
I have blocked off the heater hoses (i dont even have a heater in my 86) so nothing to tap into there...
Oil return into the sump wont be hard, can drill and weld a fitting there but was curious about feed along with water feed and return.
Pic's ofpeoples setups would be great please

here is a link to the HK$ turbo manual for the AW11. http://marc.thefuse.net/mr2/HKS/index.htm
even though you dont have a AW11 they should help.
i tee'd my water lines into the heater lines. i have heard of people useing the lines that go to the thottle body, but personaly i dont like that idea.
the heater outlets would still be on your engine?
best way i've found for the oil feed line. i did mine like this after my first attempt of having a brass fitting and tee peice with the oil pressure sender and turbo feed in the block, the fitting ended up cracking in the block. as many others that did it that way have.
*these are not my pics*

thanks buddy, so if u didnt use a brass T fitting due to them breaking, what did you use?
could i get away without running any water lines to the turbo or what?

i used a steel fitting and braided lines like in those pics.
i have seen water cooled turbo's with-out the coolant lines...

simon, a good place to get the oil feed from is a T- piece from the oil pressure sender,
if you have a water cooled turbo, hook up the water cooling! from what i have read, it is definately worth it.
see if you can borrow "maximum boost" from someone, i just bought it, very helpful!

simon, tee off the oil pressure sender switch like folks have suggested. if you're not keen on the brass cracking fittings speedflow (www.speedflow.com.au) make alloy fittings to suit. the hole is 1/8 NPTF FWIW.
re; water fittings, i'm using my heater hoses (as my gas convertor also uses these - i'd run a tee out of the back of the fitting that sits in the back of the head, for supply and return, well, tee into the pipe that goes along side the block back to to the water pump assy (depending on your setup)

OK thanks for that, One other thing, what exhaust size should i go? since this isnt goingto be a HP storming motor i think 3 inch is a little overkill (and hard to fit on ae86) so was thinking 2.5 inch.

If i can jam a 3 inch exhaust into an mr2 i cant see why you couldnt put one in an 86?
But yeah, go 2.5 inch.

a few ppl are running 3 inch exhausts on their sprinter, i will be soon, it can be done.
thats a really neat set-up on the mr2, if i wasnt such a tight ass i would do something like that rather than a brass T-piece and rubber hoses.

2.5inch it is, making it dump off the turbo and then exit straight out the passenger side
should be nice and loud
I just scored a free S13 cooler and BOV too...

just another thing, My motor has great compression, but the valve stem seals are not in perfect cond, how will this be affected by the adding of turbo + boost?

in my opinion:
you will probably get more blowby, but smoke shouldnt pour out of the exhaust pipe (if you think about it) due to the boost pushing past the stem seals when the inlet valves are closed, and the exhaust trying to do the same thing due to there being a turbo causing much greater exhaust port pressure.
i think it shouldnt be much worse if you dont push it, and if you are turboing a 10:1 or so motor, then you wont want to run crazy boost anyway.

how will boost push past the valve stem seals when the valves are closed? that makes no sense to me. i dont think there will be any difference to the valve stem seal leakage.

i see no reason why boost would effect the engine with worn valve stem seals either.
other than the puff of smoke at start-up which would happen boosted or not.
