3s-gte rev cut at 5500? WTF?

Hi all,
Have been running the 3s-gte from an st205 grp a gt4 for about a week now and craig from nova gave it a boot full the other night only to hit a rev cut at 5500rpm. it is getting plenty of fuel courtesy of a walbrough fuel pump, although i think it may be using a series 2 3s-ge mr2 atmo distributor and it is definately using the atmo 3s-ge coil. any ideas? it is all bundeled togtether neatly in my sv21 (89 model) camry... other than this issue, it pulls like a pissed offf rhino and then halts as the fun is really starting... need help. any gurus? even if i could just abolish the whole rev limit circuit al together so that i could rev it as hard as i wanted (not that i would take it past 7500 anyways)
Thanks,
Chris.

There are two possibilities that spring to my mind, although I'm sure other people will cough up better ones.
1) Your coil can't produce enough spark for the higher resistance (high boost) charge.
2) Your engine is in 'limp' mode and has some kind of electrical gremlin.

is it only under load that its doing it??
Ie.. if you rev it to 5500rpm from idle under no-load, does it cut out still?

the only error is code 54, but the computer can't do dick about that as all the vacuumy control type lines which would allow the comuter to govern boost have been disconnected in this regard, (code 54 is the water to air intercooler pump and temp code) it still cuts while free revving...

If your computer has an error, it's still possible that it will cut the ignition.

is the reluctor pickup in the dizzy wired the right way? if 'backwards' it casues ignition problems.. about 5500rpm...
is the ECU controlling the sprak, ie retarding it with boost?
if not it might be trying to turn itself backwards

also i know it sounds stupid but try colder spark pulgs and lessen gap in each plug!

it runs 7 psi all the way from 3 and 1/2k. this morning in 4th gear it was running all the way up to 10psi it seemed like it wanted to keep making more boost so i backed off it, this was before 5500 rpm... i'm gunna have to get the eleco to have a look at it and make sure everything is set up properly... any more ideas i could present him with?

Doesn't the factory ECU rev cut after 10psi?

It sounds like your ignition system. Your not using 3SGE spark plug leads are you? I would suggest you upgrade your coil anyway.

I do beleive the group a ecu's have fuel and ignition maps up to 18psi.
Im thinking dizzy, "remember chris", craig had to reset/play with that to help the fuel situation.
