MX83 Grande Stereo

My Grande CD tape and tuner unit is on its last legs. Can anyone recommend a replacement unit. It is about twice the height of a standard unit and some of its controls are even higher up on the dash?

Yup, it's a double DIN unit, so you can either:
1. Try and buy a replacement from Toyota. Hang on to your hat when they tell you the price...
2. Find one from a wrecker
3. Forget about the 'extra' controls, and either buy an aftermarket double DIN sized unit, that will likely have some kind of horrendous 'graphic' display, or install a single DIN (normal) sized one, and add a little pocket for knick knacks underneath in the unused space. If you're not really confident you can make something neat, either try and steal steal something similiar from another car, or go see a car audio installer (not Autobarn or similiar though!)
