Hey Everyone,
just a quick question regarding JDM disc brake / LSD rear end..
Will the Later-term (Kouki) rear-end fit the Early-Term (Zenki) AE86 without any modifications?
Thanks,
- Sam

I'm not too sure on current prices but I believe that the JDM rear end is rare enough to be a bit expensive these days. So much so you could probably get a modified skyline or commodore disc brake diff etc modified to fit for the price.
Hope that helps a little.

Having said that I just found this in the trading post:
Toyota Sprinter 1984 AE86 disc brake rear axle assembly, complete, tailshaft, bolt in fitment, $450 OATLEY 02-9570 8000 or 0419-922220
well there you go

The rear diff assembly's are the same width, just the axle thickness changes (and so forth bearings and the like). Problem is early LSD won't go into late diff's, and some aftermarket LSD won't take non-LSD axles without shortening.
Sam, come to the Toyota meeting this sunday and I can answer alot of your diff questions.
