Change the wheel offset! This can be done illegally and simply by installing wheel spacers, and ensuring your wheel studs still have enough thread on them to keep the wheel nuts. Or you could buy the correct offset wheels?!!!

I had a similar problem, spacers are supposably safe (but i don't think legal) if the wheel nut can still do 6 turns. The other possibility is putting a small dent in the strut where the tyer goes past, pretty dodgy i know, I would only try it if the tyer is just brushing against the strut, make sure you don't dent it too much so the shockie can't come out. Or maybe if your tyers are significantly wider than the wheel you could fit thinner tyers eg 205's rather than 215's.

If it is about an inch you have major problems! I thought you ment more like 1 or 2 mm. I rekon the offset of your rims is way off.

it seems like you have an ST185 wheel offset (38mm)
I had this problem when I stuck my GT4 wheels on my ST162. Depending on what width tyre you have on the back you can get away with it...I did, but not the front. If you manage to get an inch let me know, purely vanity for me though :) damn shitty offset laws, why have big fat guards and not be able to fill them. Anyone want to give me custom Simmons?????????????
