Insurance companies & costs

I'm doing a ring around the insurance companies again.
As I've got a modded grey import this is very tiresome, although some phone calls are very short.
I'm thinking of starting a bit of a list of companies that will & won't cover certain things to save ringing every company only to find "don't cover mods" or "don't cover imports" or "don't cover modded imports"
Anyone else's input is welcome.

Shannons are great, but I'm not sure your car is modified enough for them to bother with you.

Or that screw you sideways for the privilege.
And for the ones that do a price they offer so we can get an Idea of who is cheaper for you particular circumstance.
I realise that every one is different depending on where you come from, age driving record etc... but regardless it will give a guide to company X is possibly cheaper than company Y.

OK, go and talk to Shannons then.
They insure my car with all mods for $750/year. Comprehensive.

Just got off the phone to them.
Once I'd mentioned that I only use the car for club trips & occasional use, he came to the party.
$1069/year compared to current Just Cars at $1700.
Might be getting a new customer.
Oh... I did very quickly after telling him what engine was in it that I was thinking of transplant.
