There's been a few mentions of people wanting to put in the 100kw SX or GTI instrumental cluster ie speedo etc into their Cs or CSI corolla's. I attempted to do the same thing but only got as far as undoing the screws that hold the panel in. Was just wondering if anyone managed to actually do the change over and how they went about it 'cause I was unsure how to remove the wiring and cables that are attached to the instruments without causing any damage.

Each plug that fits in the back of the cluster has a catch that has to be pressed to pull it out - same sort of thing that most other connectors on the car have. You'll need at least one additional plug and to swap some of the wires between plugs. Search Toymods and Twincam16 FAQ sections - there should be plenty of articles about the conversion. Without wishing to be rude, if you couldn't work out how to get the connectors out of the cluster, I'd be very hesitant to try the conversion by myself. The SX cluster wont fit in the AE82 unless you are happy yo do some major work on the dash. However the Tacho versions of the AE82 cluster can be swapped straight over for the cluster with the big clock. Everything will work without further mods.
