spray pattern /direction for 4AGZE injectors Thu, 22 April 2004 03:41 Go to next message
i'm proposing to use 4AGZE injectors in EFIing my RA40/18R turbo, mostly because i can source them on from the forums, plus i'm not likely to run them at 100% duty in my car.

can someone advise:
is the spray pattern is along the axis or at right-angles to the axis of the injector?
are there multiple exit holes on the injector face or just one?
how wide is the spray pattern (e.g. degrees wide)?
is injector face same shape, size & nozzle as say 1G-GTE injectors or something i can measure up?

also, i'm searching for a pic of one ... any idea of subjects to search on Wink

tia,
charles.

The GZE injectors have 2 holes in the injector face/tip, each one aiming at the 2 intake valves.
I'll get you a pic along with all the other pics I owe you. Smile
Dunno about spray pattern, or shape compared to a 1G, but I know they're intercgangeable with 13B turbo injectors, which are interchangeable with GTR injectors.

What happened to the magna injectors? For spray pattern, you'd prbly be best off finding injectors out of a 2valve/cyl setup?

Cheers
Wilbo

hi wilbo!

the magna injectors aren't big enuf for a turbo application ;-(
if i ran non-turbo (why?) then maybe as they're for a 2.6litre 4cyl.

the specs on the injectors are:
4AGZE (red/orange, Denso, part #?) are 365cc/min (approx 73Hp ea)
7MGTE & 3SGTE (black, Denso, part #?) are 430cc/min (approx 86Hp ea)!
7MGE (light green, Denso part #?) are 315cc/min (approx 63Hp ea)
Magna (white, Bosch, part# 0280 150706) are 214cc/min (approx 42Hp ea)

(info from Autospeed article0102.pdf - "injector Flows" - if anyone want a copy of the PDF, PM me)

i guess the 7MGE might suffice - but as i've just paid for the GZE ones... it's all a bit academic Wink

as for spray pattern - if it's not down the axis the injector, i might be able to mount the injectors in the runner on a more obqlique angle yet still have the spray heading down towards the centre of the runners. Alignment of injectors would be a issue to manage after installation.

oh... lets not forget that this will no longer be a daily driver - so a rough idle isn't as important now Laughing Cool
