wiring for coil ballast Thu, 22 April 2004 10:24 Go to next message
I'm half way through wiring up the ignition on the celica (3sgte genII) but I can't work out how to wire in the ballast for the coil. Its not on any diagrams I can find... any suggestions?

depends if you want to switch out the ballast during starting??

usually, pwer comes from IGN, then goes thru ballast, then goes to coil, since you are trying to reduce the coil voltage from 14 to less..

for switching out during starting, a wire from either starter solenoid, or the start position on ignition swith, straight to the coil will give higher coil voltage.. just be careful of circuit loops.
