4AGE thermofan wiring

If I'm not mistaken the sensor switch for the thermofan on the 4AGE (AE92 if that helps at all) is usually closed (on) and open (off) when it gets hot? If so... How do you wire it up so that the fan comes on when the engine gets hot? I've heard something about using 2 relays, but can't seem to figure out how the wiring would go...

fook, there is a dual position relay you can use for this - basically when the unit is powered (so the switch is NC) it supplies power to 87, otherwise when it goes NO - it supplies power to 87a
seemed to work ok for me...

A dual position relay... sounds funky Available from like Repco/Autobarn etc? Fairly certain SuperCheap doesn't have it, they only have simple relays...
So I would assume you run the fan relay to 87a instead of 87 so that when the thermal switch turns off (when it gets hot) then 87a gets powered?

All you need is SPDT relay
Jaycar has two different SPDT auto relays
30A - here
60A - here
You can also get relay bases - here

I would assume a 30A relay should be enough for a single 12" fan? I sure hope it doesn't pull any much more than 30A!
Thanks

Drew up a diagram, am assuming I will also need another relay (normal SPST) to make sure the fan doesn't come on when IGN goes off.

its easy
all u need is one normal relay supplying power toi a 2nd relay that turns on the fan
the 2nd relay is green
look at any toyota fusebox if there is a green relay there
then its usually a normally closed relay that runs the thermo

sideshow: don't have the original fuse box, hence the "custom" install
