hi all,
fyi, i'd swap in gze into my levin70 a couple months ago, everything's ok except the radiator fan always ON after u switch the key. i thought it's no big deal,so i sent it for spraying.(6months later) which's now, i got the car back with a new paint, but then the ze is giving me probelms...
firstly, there's a explosion from exhaust when the engine is running at high RPM, or when u suddenly step on the gas ! anyway, the car still can be drive at low range or used for normal driving.
few nights ago, the same problem (explosion) happened, then the car OFF by itself at side of the road.... *%&*#$%!... Radiator fan continue to ON & temp meter shot to H even I OFF my key. after that i couldn't get the car started & I noticed that the check engine light doesn't ON when I switch on the key,
after the next morning, i manage to start the car (without doing anything on it) & the idling is ok at 900. but, when I step on the gas the car OFF. then, Rad Fan is ON, Temp Meter shot up to H again.
so, is this something to do with the temp sensor/thermostat/ecu/etc !
can anyone pls suggest somethings....
thanks & regards

i'm no good at electrical problem chasing unless i am actualy there looking at it. the fans are normaly switched by your temp sender. but as for the fans and the quage coming on even when the ignition is turned off, some sort of bad short must be there.?.
for the backfire (explosion) i would check the dianostics codes first, your timing is set correctly, check for vacum leaks etc in the intake system. then maybe things like the TPS setting's, spark plugs, leads..

check and ,make sure all 3 plugs are on ecu
is it airflow or map sensor
check to see its connected
some temp gauges will goto hi if they do not have the earth wire hooked up
check behind the stereo section
thats where the main wires are for thre dash

thanks guys...
I'll check on the earth connection & those vacum hoses soon.
I hv try to unplug the temp sender plug when the temp gauge shot up to max. but, it doesn't make any different!! ECU is properly plug in too. i guess i should check on the connection to my dash.
why the check engine light doesn't on whenever the car cannot start? and, I also found out this new problem, the engine OFF after I unplug the battery +ve terminal. this mean there is no charging right !! but, no charging warn from the dash !!
fyi, I'm using the whole wiring harness from the rolla 92 & ze is running on AFM.
