4A-GE Redline Quad Manifold Sat, 24 April 2004 15:56 Go to next message
Alright, ever since ive been considering the quads on my GE i have been intending on making a custom mani for the 20v quads. But i was thinking tonight that i should probably investimigate the redline manifold anyway, even if im not going to use it.
So does anyone have a link to a supplier or spec page with some decent pics of a redline 4A quads mani?

I googled and searched and couldnt find anything. Came up with redline bikes, and V8 manifolds Sad

the spacing on the redline manifolds is to suit webers. to make an adaptor for the quads, get a FWD inlet manifold, cut it maybe 2" from where it mounts to the head, weld a piece of alloy plate across it and mount the quads to that instead.

Aye, ive heard that method too.
I would still like to see the design of the redline quads to see if i can produce something similar. Especially as my FWD manifold i want to keep for my AE92 if i ever go turbs on the GZE.

redline don't make quads ; they make an alloy manifold to mount quads too.

throttle bodies can by had quite easily, in different patterns too ; meridian motorsport sell these.

you can also try http://www.speed-technology.com/efi_throttle.html for some pix online ect.

I meant investigate the redline quad manifold.
I have already settled upon using the 20v quads, and making a manifold to fit.

Just investigating whether adapting a Redline manifold, a FWD 100kw or making a custom is the way to go.

Hehe, pics would be great.
I have one set of quads coming in from ImportBitz already, but i wouldnt mind a second set for a reasonable price.
It would be for a 16v smallport so i am trying to compare stuff.

Cheers

just buy the 20v motor for like $600 and get quads, vvti, 20v
itll work out cheaper than adapting quads to your motor...

At which point i have a motor which is limited to 121kw with little modification in sight for it.
That doesnt make for a very competitve sprinter does it.
A 100kw engine with increased compression (11:1), 288* cams on the other hand makes for a very competitive engine.

So Bah to a 20v, ill stick with the 16v 100kw which i already have.

Just have to convert to RWD, and im using quads to do so, as i believe this will provide as much, if not better tunability and performance benefit on 288* cams than a cut and shut manifold.

So unless you can find me 288* cams for a 20v which cost less than a grand then, NO it wont turn out cheaper.
