oil's too thin Wink leaks out the holes in ur motor! Razz

I once had a 4ac with no oil leaks. I put mobil one in it and lost 5 L's in 400km's! Figure that.

4ag's don't need mobil one, unless it has just been rebuilt. in my opinion u could save money and just use something like Castrol Magnetic or something similar.

Can you actually see oil leaking on the ground or are you just topping it up because its low?

synthetic oil in 4AGE's tends to burn off due to the engine tolerances not being designed for such a light oil so over time you will loose some oil like in Lukes case.

In particular mobil 1 in my experience is not a suitable oil for the 4AGE, I have used it on new engine that Ive had to pull apart within 1000Kms and have seen an unusually high level of wear on the bearings and oil loss problems as mentioned earlier. I recommend you use something with a higher grade like Penrite 30 or 50.

irally

yes it leaks, only happens when the car has been parked over a long period, overnight, oil spots in the morning.

took your advice and had oil changed to penrite HPR 30, engine seems to have more grunt ..hmmm weird.

Now my clutch is slipping, 1st gear goes to 4k 5k rpm, then drops, like the speed is lagging ...hahaha. Other gears arent as bad, just have to take it easy now...
