spiders in iraq (freaky)

I saw this on a forum and thought people would want/need to see this.
They run 10 mph, jump three feet, are a nocturnal spider, so only come out at night unless they are in shade. When they bite you, you are injected with Novocain so you go numb instantly. You don't even know you are bitten when you are sleeping, so you wake up with part of your leg or arm missing because it has been gnawing on it all night long.
If you are walking around and you bump something that is casting a shadow over it, and the
sun makes contact with it, you better run. It will instantly run for your shadow, and scream the whole time it is chasing you.
PS. The one on the bottom is eating the one on the top.
These Spiders are found in IRAQ by troops, daily.
Imagine waking up and seeing one of these in your tent!!

On Dr Karl's science forum there was a bit of a chat about them.
They're not spiders, but they're closely related. (not sure what they are exactly sorry)
They also don't scream and won't eat you.
Like a lot of internet stuff you see, it's mostly fake.

They are called camel spiders. The website debunks the myths and provides a better photograph which makes it clear that they are in fact arachnids (contrary to what I said above).

If you look at the partial hand in the top right corner of the photo and compare it to the size of the "spiders" they don't look as HUGE as they first do but they still look pretty big.

Actually I did read the page you posted,
This is the point i was trying to make...
"Although whatever is depicted in the photograph above appears to be far too large for camel spiders, the creatures might just look unusually large because they were held close to the camera, creating an illusion of exaggerated size."

It's pretty obvious that the image is a little bit of a camera trick. The hand that is holding the camel spiders is really close to the camera, the 'spider' itself is probably only about the size of your hand.

Yeah, it's only about the size of your hand. That's not so big. Still they can run at 10mph!!! That's 16kph! Fast little buggers.

If I was a soldier I would prefer those spiders to bull ants any day.
