There are a lot of places in Brisbane you can buy these scooters! But they are not cheap! I wanted to get one when I lost my licence, but when I found that the average price for a reasonable one was close to $1500 I choose not to!

You do realise that if you made one it'd have to be a beast, it'd need a bigger carb at least!! (where would you get a turbo small enough??) Shave the head and mod the cam. (if it has one...) The thing would fly!!
Also, if you did something like that, how far could you go before it wasn't legal?? I mean, could you cruise down the M$ on one??

heh i had a mate who had one with a chainsaw engine on a scooter.. he wound it out to 80 on a straight next to us in the car.. little beastie i wish i had the cash when he sold it

A work mate was bashed riding his petrol scooter to Garden Island naval base last year. Lucky he had it hand-cuffed to his wrist when they tried to steal it off him. He was riding down the hill from Kings Cross train station when the scum bags attacked him from a side street. After this close brush with death, he ported the head and changed the exhaust! When I ask why, he told me it would increase power through the mid-range so the pricks couldn't catch him next time!
Crazy stuff goes on in a big city! Good luck with your scooter, they really fly with a few minor mods.

Luke , I spoke to the narl tonight, he said that he could not say at what point a scooter would require rego and licensse etc. ,,
however, if it is not a registered motorvehicle then it was a toy, and there arelawsabout toys. Such as they are illegal on public roads after dark.
bicycles are the exception.

Ok, hehe so you wanna talk scooter??
I got really into the go-ped scene about a year ago..
I bought one.. It was sooo much fun.. awesome fun.. U can get endless mods for these things... carbs, big piston bore kit, watercooled heads, Even Nos kits.
One night.. Using my go-ped as my drunk transport.. as you do
Driving down blaxland road in ryde.. Steering Dead arrow straight  (apparently i was swerving all over the road ) When the cops pulled me up.. They informed me that anything that creates more than 500w of power you need a license and it has to be registered. The fine comes to a grand total of $1200 which he was writing out until i slurred some shit about being safe and not drink driving.. He then tells me to go home and never ride this on the road again.. He took my name down and told me i was getting an official "Caution"...
Blowouts!!!
So after that.. it sat around collecting dust, so i sold it to a 10 year old boy and his father ...
so yeh.. theyre awesome fun.. but the $1200 fine is serious and my mate copped the fine a few weeks after.. So the go-ped dream died for us all..

my uncle can import anything from electric scooters to petrol powered push bikes. It may take a while to get one after you order it though cause he's just started doing this. maybe a month.
