Can anyone tell me where is a good place/s to get a rebuild kit for a 3S GE, pistons, bearing etc ? Any help would be great.

ACL in brisbane will do you for bearings, gaskets etc.

Why do u need pistons? Acl do make them though...

The engine in the car now starts and runs, well sort of it has the biggest knock/rattle i have ever heard come from an engine, so i think everything would be pretty much shot. I still have to pull the engine out, strip it and see if it's even worth rebuilding it. Oh the engine is also a 'TVIS' what ever that is supposed to mean!! i hope it's a good thing though. Laughing

if its got a big end knock, expect you need to have the crank re-ground and surfaced. Depending on how bad it is. That has no relevance to the condition of the pistons tho...

I am hoping it is just mains, work out cheaper, but i'll know more once the motor is pulled down.

hey man where ever u get ur head shaved, if ur doin a rebuild..they should be able to get u all the things u need bearing,piston rings,VRS kit etc..i just rebuilt my 3sge costed about 900 all up with me doing the work..1 week later hear a knocking come to find out i spun a bearing and yeah took the engine out again and took the crank shaft in to the place that did my head work and they reground it and supplied the over sized bearing and big ends..costed 217 for thr grinf and bearings..hope u get it sorted g/l
