I finally found some rims to fit my mk2, but I'm still in 2 minds about them. What I've basically found so far:

*) They're a little slimmer (225 as opposed to 245), but slightly larger rim diameter (16" as opposed to the stock 14"). The steering has obviously lightened up considerably, but I'm still deciding if this is a good or bad thing. The reduction in tyre wall means less flex, am I right? I have yet to push it through some bends to see if I can feel a difference.

*) There looks as if there's a little more room around the inside of the rim now, so a brake upgrade may be easier now (a good 1" clearance around the caliper).

*) Lastly, I'm still trying to decide if I like the look of them over the stock rims.

I've chucked a picky in of the new rims so you can see for yourself - I'm sure most of you are familiar with the stock rims.

Blacksupra: Glad to hear I'm not the only one who had a nightmare of a time finding rims! I believe the offset of my new rims is +10 (I THINK).
Either way, It gives me about 50mm clearance from the struts at the rear, and about 5mm clearance from the struts at the front. Heaps of room around the guard and whatnot, and stacks of room inside the rim for way bigger brakes and discs. No scrubbing anywhere, and I went over heaps of speedbumps to test

BSA (#248) - available with 16" or 17", both 7" wide.
