VL pumps are external. If you want to save yourself some money, get a JE Camira fuel pump - it's the same as a VL pump, but wreckers let them go at a fraction of the price because it's out of a Camira.
These pumps are good for up to 300hp apparently.

I got mine out of RT142 Corona w/ 22RE. Same flow as NA Supra. $30 at U-pull-it (pick and pull). Fits straight onto my MR2 bracket thats sits the pump smack bang on the bottom of the AE86 tank. None of this AE82 bracket and adding 30-40mm. The bracket is the PERFECT size.
Tho finding AW11 MR2 fuel bracket... another storey.

Hey Jaza thats pretty cool!I didnt know that the MR2 pump bracket was the same as the factory AE86 one does it face the correct direction? what about the plugs? are they simply a connect option like the AE82 to the sprinter?

The braket is the correct length but the top braket that bolts to the tank is more oval shape compared to the AE86 circle. I will be drilling new bolt holes and using custom rubber seal as that is also not perfect. Fuel lines all point in the same direction, and because the bracket that holds the pump is straight, direction at base is irrelivant in terms of where it sits in the tank (Which is that flat rectangular depression).
I will admit that i didn't have the fuel pump filter on so this may mean the outlet lines will need to point in another direction to get the filter on the flattest part, but I plan on trimming the lines and making new flared ends so not really concerned.
