hey Dellow Auto makes bellhousings for a supra box to bolt up to a 1JZ, im guessing it will fit w55 w57 and w58 if they are interchangable, then its just a matter of getting a box from an importer usually about $450

Hey 1JRacing,
OT: That looks like an interesting ride you have there. Any chance you could share a little info? It's good to see so many people getting creative with the 1JZ.
cheers,

And on topic: Rather than a Dellows (a companey that most forum members have a low opinion of) bellhousing and standard W57/8, you'd be better off getting a complete W58 package off a 2JZGE (ie, non-turbo) JZA80 supra. That way, you have a JZ bellhousing, a W58 which is supposedly stronger, and all the other bits (flywheel, ring gear, fork, slave cylinder, maybe clutch, etc.) that you know will be compatable. Cost for the whole package will be somewhere around the $1200 mark. Or $8-900 just for the box with bellhousing.
Or, fork over a cool $1500+ for an R154 out of a manual Supra.

If you can find an R154 that is!! Rare as monkey's balls.
Alternatively, if you get to a point where you dont care if the box is manual or auto, I have an auto out of a 1jz-gte with the bellhousing in great condition

yeah sure
its a 323i bmw 1982 (e21 )with the trusty 1jzgte which slotted straight in no clearence probs at all, just a couple mounts to fab. I used the front sump pan model... chaser??
I ditched the turbo's (well actually baught a long motor less turbo's for $900 off an importer)I am running a Vortech V5 supercharger @ 18psi, a wolf3D and 2jzgte injectors, internal water/air cooler. The car runs a supra g-box and diff center mated to the bmw suspension, custom springs and shocke with wilwood brakes all round.
It makes 250kw at the treads which isn't bad in a 1000kg car!!
the motor is bog stock standard and hasnt missed a beat in over a dozen outings caned verry hard!
Im racing in the state champs this weekend at eastern creek both sat and sun if anyone wants a great day watching some good local club racing. Usually over 200 cars and about 12 fields. Sports sedans usually get about 15-20 cars
P.s. Im looking for a w55 box in any condition for parts and a set of hot cams for a 2j or 1j if anyone knows of any
cheers

cheers
I was at the bathurst climb bit of fun, no slicks back then so a few traction issues
i might do the dapto climb not sure, i just stripped the std g.box last weekend at eastern creek, 240 klicks in 5th and i suddenly had a box full of neutrals! so I might not have the new dog set in by then.
so im no longer looking for a parts g.box I now have one!!
