hmm, did you consider why they don't sell it??
cos it's illegal to have reflective tint jobs.. even reflective motorcycle visors are not legal...
it'll be like saying "hey cops, come and defect me"
it would look nice, but yeah.. not legal

Try Carmate in Lansvale. Talk to Romeo and tell him Max sent ya.
I've had a mirror tint for years now. Been pulled over heaps and they've never even looked twice at the tint.
I've also got a 20% tint (ie: illegally dark).

You can do anything to passenger windows and rear windows. You can even plaint them black if you want.
It's only the front windscreen and front windows that the laws apply to.
Oh, apart from mirror tint I think... I think that's just illegal everywhere...

This is what my tint looks like BTW.
Click link for larger versions.
As I said, never had any trouble from the cops about the tint.

Very nice dude!
My mate told me that any car before 1988 can get like 85-90%(whatever it is) black tints except on the windshield...Does anyone know if this is true???
Thanx.

Pre-94 cars don't have to stick to the 35% rule. Well, they do, but they can't really prove that you didn't get your tint before the shut off date (sometime in '94).
Not sure if there was a minimum before that date, but going below 15% is just stupid IMO.
And you can't have any tinting at all on the front windscreen.

September 1994 onward must adhere to the new tinting rules. Cars manufactured before that can have black paint if they want... just like Nark mentions.

as far as i know anything more than 35% is illegal..some mobile tinters are nice and u can get say 25 or 30 and if u ask them to they might give u a lil sticker saying u have 35 and put 35 on the receipt so the cops cant really do anything about it..oh and im pretty sure ur alloud a 6 inch strip of tint on the top of ur front wind screen toones of ppl have it

The amount depends I think - I don't think it's allowed to overlap into the areas of glass that the windscreen wipers cover.
eg - the tinted strip on Nark's front windscreen is bigger than six inches, however the windscreen wipers on the RA60 are relatively short and don't get anywhere near the roofline.

Talk to Dave or Geoff at Tint Wizard on North Rocks Road at North Parramatta...face to face is best...they will tell you exactly what is 'legal'/age of vehicle/time frames etc etc..
As for the front screen I think its no closer than 10 cm above the top of the arc of your wipers...have a look at the RTA site..
