Is JDM extractor good? Sat, 24 August 2002 04:21 Go to next message
I am after a RWD extractor.
Should I go get a custom one, Or get one off the blue top JDM 4AGE? I am planning to get a red top, are these two engine has the same exhaust bolt pattern?
Is the JDM extractor a good one or just better get a custom extractor?
Thanks.

Factory RWD is fine if that's what you can get.
You will find that at high rev's they can start to restict gas flow, but this gives the bottom end torque that 4-1 extractors won't.

General rule of thumb:
4-2-1 = torque
4-1 = power

Lenght each individual runner and where and when they meet will determine power band range. Exhaust back pressure varies due to flow rates and exhaust pulsation rates at each rpm. The different designs will produce different gas flow rates and hence power regions.

If you can find a set of extractors at a good price (less than $300) then use them, and tell me where you got them Smile

I know the rules.
So you mean the stock JDM extractor are in 4-2-1 form??What I am wondering is are they good at length and diameter??
In fact, that's what I want.
But some one told me there is a place to get a extractor for just 250. I might go ask them if they can get a 4-2-1 one. Or maybe they just make 4-1.
Anyway, thanks for that.
