need coffee now, just got a new percolator, doesnt say how much coffee to put in, neither does the coffee bag

umm, id put mabye 2-3 heaped tablespoons
i recall more is better, although not nessecarily cheaper

Best to make it strong and then add some boiling water if needed. 2-3 heaped teaspoons per cup is about right for those heart pulpitating moments.

depends how strong you like it 
personally, I'm a 1.5 heaped tbl spoon per person kinda guy.... but I also drink silly amounts of coffee

This means only one thing, lousy cheap coffee. Good coffee, not much cafiene.
Ditch the perc, go espresso.

We got a mesh filter, fill it to 2/3 - 3/4 full, too much and it overflows, and you dont want to have to chew your coffee.

Good coffee doesnt contain lots of cafiene Greg. 
Spend $500 on a decent machine (espresso gaggia) and good coffee and you won't need caffiene
