Can anyone recommend Health insurance that isnt too pricey for singles? I just want the basics and something that will cover day procedures i.e. gastroscopy. I have to have a few done and they are quite expensive (have to pay up front if you dont have private health insurance!)

I'm with HCF basic cover. I'm not sure about day procedures.
But the premium seems to go up in price every other month. I'm now paying about $50 per month.

Hi,
I had a gastroscopy last week (5th one so far ), they do get a bit pricey so I know what you mean.
I am having a capsule endoscopy next week (the capsule camera), it goes on the medicare rebate scheme on Monday thankfully, I had to pay for it before I had the procedure about 6 months ago and it cost me $2000 (none of which could be refunded). This time it is around $400, I wish I had private insurance, but last time I looked into it the waiting period on pre-existing conditons made it not worth while in my particular case, so I just fork out the $$$ and try to get everything sorted ASAP. You can't put a price on good health.
My car would be a lot quicker by now if the Dr's didn't have all my money .
Cheers.

Yeah its expensive, even if i get health insurance its not going to help me for now, gotta wait 12 months. Wish these tests were covered by medicare, sick of having to fork out for em!

Once it's all sorted you don't mind having spent the $$$, just don't do what I do and spend all your money on cool stuff then get rung up by the Dr's and told you have a test scheduled in a few days thats going to cost X$$$$. Thats next weeks predicament, now how to get some quick cash......................

Spot on! "Mum and Dad Health Insurance" was the best!! . "M&D food catering" and "M&D race sponsorship" was good too, but all contracts ceased when full time work started
I had a taste of 100% wellness and I am looking forward to it being permanent!
Good luck with it all any how!!
