auto car launching

people usually launch and auto car by flooring the brake pedal and accelerating to the rpm...and let go of the brake to launch...
i've only taken my 03 camry 2.4l to 2000rpm...but it sounds like its struggling to go any higher...so i'm not really sure if i should try higher...i remember half a year ago that it could rev to 3000-3500rpm...i remember doing it at night...and my car full wheel spinned at the lights...
so is anything wrong?
but i think 2000rpm is a good rpm for launching my car anyway...hmmm

U will find thats wat the convertor limit is on your car. This is a standard thing with autos when the accelerator is applied with the brakes.

errr that neutral dump sux, its slow and causes damage...well i've never tried it before don't think i'll do it...i've done it at 2000rpm before...the car just takes off smoothly...but i don't think it would work at higher rpms??
how do people really to their 1/4miles in auto cars anyway?

Hard on the brakes, hand brake on, Floor it, Release footbrake before hand brake or all you end up doing is a smoke show

for drag cars the torque converter slips until you are at higher rpm.. ie '5000rpm stall converter' means that when they do the brake accel thing, the engine is around 5000rpm...
2-3000rpm is normal for a stock auto car....
but why would you want to do this anyway
