Slipping Clutch :(

Hey guys, the good news, I now have a manual Cressida
The bad news is that I have a slipping clutch...
The clutch only slips at high rpm changes, ie 1st to 2nd at 5.5k. The clutch is behind a pretty well stock 5M-E so it really shouldn't be slipping!
It is a second hand clutch, but the flywheel was surfaced, and the clutch itself looks almost perfect (when sprayed with brake cleaner you can read some writing on it, couldn't make out the brand tho). Atm I'm leaning towards the pressure plate being sus...also it was very clean when I assembled it as well so I'm pretty sure it isn't contaminated.
A picture of the condition of the parts before assembly... (soz its a bit dodge...)

Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Wilbo

The cat isn't stuck on it. It's a cat back clutch kit!

This will be a problem with actuation or hydraulics.
Try adjusting the pedal. Try bleeding the fluid. Also confirm that your master and slave are matched correctly and that they suit the gearbox you are using.

It'll also have less emissions, always land feet down and require the occasional hairball to be removed from the a/c vents

I still think it will be one of those things... if this complete combo worked on your supra and the adjustment etc have not been changed, then I'd suggest a bleeding will fix it. Also in the time that the cylinders were dry one of the seals may have given way...

The slave and master are off a SA63 celica (I believe them to be identical to MA61 units tho, can anyone confirm?)
I have tried adjusting the pedal so that I am sure that it is keeping no residual pressure on the pressure plate when released.....on difference, might try bleeding again, can't hurt.
I'd rather explore every option first! (not a fan of taking out gearboxes)
Thanks guys.
btw where abouts do you live in brissy 7M-Brisbane?

Hmm fantastic, looks like the front gearbox seal is gone (actually went and looked at the bottom of the gearbox) ( I suspect the gasket, I replaced the seal, and made a new gasket but looks like it didn't seal correctly, bugger )
So hopefully I'll drop it all out, make a new gasket and clean everything and it will all be tops, can't wait, so excited......
thanks guys, you've been heaps of help!
ps meowwwww

hmm, FUCK. The front GB seal hadn't seated properly (looked like it had crimped over instead of sliding on a sealing properly).
So I replaced that again, after a short drive (to work, where I currently am ) it appears to not be leaking (no oil visible, and nothing can be felt/seen if the clutch for cover is removed)
The bad news is that it is still slipping (worse than before even...)! I cleaned everything VERY well, I washed everything with dawn and water, let it dry and then hit everything with brake cleaner, and then wiped off and hit again with brake cleaner.
GRRRRRRRRRRR so angry! If there is some oil contamination, is it possible it will just burn it off?
Cheers

Have you noticed any shudder/vibration through the pedal while you lift off the clutch?

Why take such a retrograde step? Jeesus dude, a 5ME is bad enough, let alone behind an auto, let the boy have some fun!

Lol, umm no! (the manual conversion has totally transformed the car!)
FWDboy: nope, no shudder etc, the clutch works fine, except for slipping some times, have to wait and see if it goes away (does seem to be getting a little better, hard to tell tho, might be me convincing myself)
Cheers
