Depends on your budget.
Just replace the head if you are skint.
If you have a lazy $5G, then do a 7MGTE conversion. Do a search for MA61 and 7MGTE. Same considerations and it has been well covered.

Nope. Wouldn't throw good money after bad at the 5ME. The results won't be worth the effort.
Save up and do the conversion.
Fix head to make it driveable.

Agreed... most people who start throwing money at a 5M-E end up regretting it. Your money could be better spent elsewhere.

only costs ~$100 to fix a BHG on a 5m. I know this as a fact!
Only spend money on the 5m if your after keeping an original engine in the car
Otherwise give it to Mr Ed or myself
