LOTS of smoke

was racing a couple of friends... 300zx, 180sx, and an EXA (with big turbo) so anyhoo... to keep up with them I was thrashing my car very hard.... and coming aroundone sharp corner, I broke traction as usual. I happen to glance in my rearview mirror to see how close the zx was, and there is a MASS of smoke behind my car.
now my car normally blows a little smoke, and a little more when I floor it, but this was monstrous. The guy in the zx said afterwards he was sure my engine had blown, there was that much smoke. After that I took it easy for about 20 secs, and the smoke went away and car drove fine for the rest of the thrashing.
My question is... anyone have any idea what the hell happened, and can I expect a repeat?

what sort of car, and what engine??
although i can't be sure what the problem is, it is possible that it was a dose of engine oil that was sucked through the engine breather into the intake.
when engines are run at high RPM for extended periods of time, there is a lot of oil pumped up into the head for cam/valve/etc lubrication. it is possible that the oil return galleries were not capable of draining this oil quicker than it was being pumped up causing the rocker cover to be pretty much filled up. this could have lead to the oil, and a good does of it too, being sucked through the breather pipe into the engine.

excellent so it's nothing terminal, and nothing uber serious, and not to be repeated (until next time I thrash my car) would that be a few correct assumptions? (considering I already know my engine is not happy)
