SR20/AE86 Thu, 06 May 2004 02:10 Go to next message
hey guys,
my name is Chad i'm new to TOYMODS. i have an AE86 that i have been drifting for over a year and the time has come to get more power, so i am going with the nissan SR20det! i have a few question's if somebody would mind helping me out.

1-i have to change the diff (drum rear) and i need a strong diff that will stand up to the SR20. I herd people using a skyline diff. is that the best way to go?

2-what is a good brake upgrade for the AE86?

3-if somebody has done a SR20 conversion can they give me a few tips.

this 86 will be competing in the FULLLOCK/HPI drift comps!

IF SOMEBODY HAS AE86 PARTS FOR SALE PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT tofugarage@hotmail.com i am after a rear hatch and just about nething apart from Toyota engine staf.

What aren't you a FULLLOCK member ? Is your car red , didn't you see a sr power ae86 a while ago .Your mate call mods is a dickhead , remember the seroius performance photo shoot , i and few others i know would help you , but sorry your team make you all look like dick heads who are anti toyota . Yes all the ae86 group there that day where shocker but the poor performance by you guys . And you bias judging of Simon RX7 from this forum at the fulllock event {also his wheels going missing}. SO i don't think you will find much help .

PS how is the TOFU GARAGE drifto club going ?

Should i be so mean ?

Perhaps Simon ought to come to Queensland then - Shano's perhaps the first aussie AE86 to win a drift comp in Australia ... Laughing

To be constructive, you may want to get in touch with the people at Twincam.org.au as there are a couple of ppl such as Anthony Kellam who have done a SR20 conversion.

Got $10k lying around? From memory, Skyline R31 diffs are the way to go ...

Conversion would still be a pain in the butt ...

SR20DET into an AE86? Now THAT sounds like a good idea......oh, I've already done it! Serious brake upgrade on an AE86? Oh, I've done one of them too. You want some tips? Here's one..... grow some balls and do the conversion yourself. Confused by my hostility? I have reasons.

Perhaps "Shano" should come to SA and compete against some real AE86's. 15th May, still over a week to get his car down here.

YES MODZ IS A BIT OF A DICK!

I DO NOT HAVE NOTHING TO DOF WITH FULLLOCK NE-MORE.
I WAS ONE FIVE DIRECTORS THAT STARTED FULLLOCK AND GOT ASKED TO LEAVE IN YAN04 BECAUSE OF INTER AL FIGHTING!
I CAN UNDERSTAND IF PEOPLE ARE PISSED OF WITH FULLLOCK.
BUT I AM THE ONE THAT HAS BEEN BURN THE MOST!
SO PLEASE DON'T PUNISH ME BECAUSE I AM NOT MODZ.
IF YOU REMEMBER THAT DAY AT THE TRACK I WAS-NT RUDE TO YOU GUYS
IAM MORE PISSED OFF THAN MOST AS I PUT 6MNTS INTO FULLLOCK WITH NOT A CENT TO SHOW FOR IT.

I'd say FULLLOCK did quite a good job at calder...
the first hugearsed drift event there is going to be problems.
Hopefully they are ironed out before the next one.

Modz, the man who talks and cannot achieve.
It is a shame that one man can bring down the reputation of something SO BADLY.

tofu garage "EXDIRECTOR" i am sorry to here about you hard work , but if you want to know how do to the conversion i will meet you saturday night at :

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=34346&start=0&rid=1935&S=adf11f16e82 b3f30415910e326ac533a

Some drifter guys i know from Nissansilvia.com etc and
point-blank.com will be going as well as the drifter ae86 guys that i think you have meet before .

I really shouldn't judge you on the merit of your team , i do not really remember meeting you just the disappointment of the fullcock motorsports other directors ,team , whatever there called .

But really you will get nowhere in there comps , if there is ever another one , since you have gone for there team , so why bother ?

statts - you planning on coming up for a dyno day ever?
I'd love to see your car, but the closest I ever get to adelaide is my trips to melb/ballarat/castlemaine

One day I might come up to Sydney. How often do these dyno days happen?

twice a year - check the events section, there's a summer one and a winter one. the winter one always draws more of a crow, but there's always tons of people there, and a full day of dyno testing
