hmmm i got st162 with factory mags (14*5.5?), and found a nice set of 17*7.5 to upgrade, but insurance i am with atm only allows 6 inches wide....

unless i change insurance companies only other option is to leave wheels stock cause i am not sure of ne decent 16/17 mags that r 6inches wide??

ne thoughts......

Are you sure your insurance isn't confusing the width of your tyres with the altered track distance of your wheels?

THis is what I would do to satisfy all parties involved...

1) RTA / Police - get your rims engineered and that should deter any problems with them ... legally can go 1 inch wider than original ... so .. 5.5 + 1 = 6.6 inches

ps. check what the stock rims on the ST162 is .. are u sure it is 5.5 inches ??

2) Insurance - if 6 inch is all they will insure then that is that. Ask them if the rims are engineered will they insure ... otherwise change ur insurance company .. haha

Some insurance companies *cough* NRMA *cough* still won't insure you even if you get them engineered.
