Instead of running one larger intercooler is it possible to run 2 smaller ones linked together??? Would this be feasable? More efficent/less efficient? Any ideas?

Yep thats what i've got one mine. Or had on mine until they made love to the tree and telegraph pole yesterday.
They "were" two MX626 intercoolers joined together at the tanks. Worked fine for 300RWHP at 14psi. Didn't even get warm. Its a good, cheap alternative.

that is the same as what i got i got 2 mx6 intercoolers and will modify them and use them together. do u know how efficent they are? do u know what air temp differences are like using them together as opposed to individually? How far apart did you mount them? I heard that the longer your piping from turbo to inlet maifold the greater the lag. That sound true?

Twin intercoolers can work well, but it depends how you join them. The easiest way is to join them in series, ie the outlet from intercooler #1 joins the inlet of intercooler #2. The downside of this is you will double the pressure drop and make the inlet tract longer, which is bad news.
The better way to do it is to join them in parallel, so you have a Y-piece splitting the air from the turbo between the coolers. This method will halve the pressure drop and shouldn't make the inlet any longer than it would be with a single cooler.
This is more or less what I did with my 2JZ-GTE install, except I had custom end tanks fabricated to join the cores together instead of using pipes. Check out my web site to see what it looks like.

Yeah but with the MX626 cores joined together at the tanks the entire cooler is only as long as a Supra one anyway so the pressure drop wont be too bad.
Best to run them together not separatley, as in i mean dont have a pipe running in between the two cores, thats just silly. Paralell or series is good, paralell a bit hard cause then you end up with a 5-6 inche core thats hard to fit in the front of a car and the rear core doesn't get much airflow.
Beleive it of not but my intercooler appears to be fine follow the tree and telegraph pole incident. The impact bar is bent but the whole intercooler moved with it in behind.
By the way guys there will be plenty of parts to sell off my car over the next few months. There is still 10K loan on the car which also adds to the heart renching sorrow. Well its something that Scott has to pay for,it was his mistake.
