the 2sc would eat an 18r i think man, they're pretty crappy...
plus you'd have to get mounts and crossmembers and shit from an ra60
it was sohc too
put a 4age (clinton's motor) in it

4AGE! Why 1.6 from 2 litre?
Just fix it up and drive it... That is what I did to my SA63
Cheers.

coz a 4age would rock pretty hard in a car that weighs only 1150kgs... the 2s-c is only 73kw whereas the 4age are 86kw and 100kw respectivley...
but anyway, grants only lookin at shit on the real cheap...
so i suggest looking for a fuct corona/sa63 in the papers, trading post, somewhere, for like $300.... and theres your 2s-c.

Going the 4A also means you need to fabricate the engine mounts and install the ECU and loom which equals .
It's cheaper and easier to find a ST141 Corona at bargin basement prices.
Cheers.

4AG = use AA63 Xmember etc, then it (obviously..) bolts right in. If you're just having issues with the 2S, I'll letcha have a reasonable one dirt cheap

Yeah, I've seen a coupla of halfcuts wrecked out for the engines, so they DO exist - but hey I'm just looking for an excuse to get rid of my old 2S here and would rather not see a good engine go to scrap metal. If you were dirt keen on the 4AG, I could probably find someone with the bits too.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the crossmember in the RA60 for the 21R engine bends the opposite way than that for a 18R/18RG motor ?
Cheers,
Mitch.

The 2S? Yeah I started it up in the car, it ran fine, didnt blow smoke etc., drove it round the backyard a few times (car was too bent to drive further) then wrecked it. How much? I guess I'm basically happy to see it go to a good(!) home, any small contributions are well received

crazy to put an 18R in a thing so beautiful as the sa63
swap in a 3s-ge. Pretty cheap (st162), efi, etc. Just gotta use most of the shit from the 2s-c. minor things like water outlet on the back/dizzy cap on the back, etc. But if u want to keep the car, worth it. If not, just slap in another 2s, shin has em coming out his ears.

A 3S-GE into any RWD platform is not a simple thing to do, unless you're using an Altezza engine of course. If it was simple you'd see people doing it all the time, but in fact it's quite rare.
The major headache is the manifolds which point in the wrong directions and foul important stuff, like the bonnet. These problems can be fixed but not easily or cheaply.
I can't see a problem with a late-model 18R-GEU into an SA63. These were factory fitted in JDM RA63's, and it's certainly a huge improvement on the 2S-C.
