Things are more expensive yeah.
But back to the topic, i do agree that common morales are valued less than they used to be. If everyone showed a bit more courtsey (esp on the roads) then the world would be more livable.

yes i agree with that especally when merging for some unknown reason just about everyones got to try and cut each other off just to get in front and its worse when after they've beaten everything they decide to go under the speed limit and not to mention tailgating thats something i really hate people doing speaking of which I have a nice little story that happened to me the other day driving past the airport (here in toowoomba)on the signed 60km/h doing 60km/h when all of a sudden this little proton ute thing (i think thats what the badge said?) but it was a little ute comes up rapidly behind my car and would of sat about a good 3inches of my back bumper so I just gave my brakes a quick tap just to let him know hes following to closely and anyway he gets a bit upset with this and blows the horn at me? I'm like if you wanna pass theres another lane to pass me so I slowed right down to about 35km/h and the decides to pass whilst giving me the finger as he drove pass I mean seriously? whats the point of that he was in the wrong,I know at times I might speed and drive like an idiot but still I never taiilgate as I know the dangers of it

I don't mind being cut off if the person has to get through my lane to get to a turning lane or something. I just can't stand people who cut you off without indicating.
You know, if you indicate, chances are I WILL LET YOU IN! I'm not an asshole, I understand that you may need to turn at the next corner.
Has anyone else noticed that luxury cars, old folks in small cars and 4WDs driven by soccer mums NEVER seem to let you merge in heavy traffic? With any other car, I think you have about a 50/50 chance of the person letting you in.
Mick, I know it's wrong, but I do nasty things to these people. Like slow right down to 40, and knock it into 2nd with the clutch in. Then I wait for them to try and overtake me, drop the clutch and see who makes it to the speed limit first (allways me). If you want to overtake me, simply come up behind me and flash your lights, or toot your horn. It's not like I mind pulling over for you, but damned if I am gonna be nice to you if ya tailgate me.

it came from me beign bagged out by a whole carrage of commuters for asking for some lenience due to a current injury which i went to the lengths of not to inconvenience others
i respect thsoe who respect me and this idiot showed no respect towards me and my condition either before or after it was explained to him in a calm way that im currently impaired due to the injury
also on the bling topic it shytes me that these so called professionals whinge about us workers getting a $12 per week pay rise when their pay rises average on the ?,000s
i think that if companies are profitable interest rates are increasing due to a strong and still growing economy we can afford to bolster the bottom line a bit by increasing the lowest full time pay packet to help eradicate hawkes promise of eradicating poverty yet i dont run this country do i (anyone desire to assis tme form a political party exercising common sense over elitism ?) ?

on the topic of drivers........
adelaide drivers apparently have a reputation of being crap and inconsiderate, ie dont let you merge etc....
after moving to newcastle, let me assure everyone that this is not true.
things that piss me off....
1) only about 40% of drivers indicate, whether turning a corner, pulling over, or merging.
2) id say the same 60% don't know how to use a round about
3) fu#@ers always enter choked intersections during "peak hour"
4) a large majority drive at 10-15kph under the speed limit even when signs showing the limt appear every 100mts., these same bastards do this in either lane not the left- i can handle that just dont crawl allong next to another slow car so that people who know what the pedal on the left does can't pass.
5) for a "city" with so many hills you would think that people would know how to cope with going down them, not ridding the brake travelling at 10kph under the limit the whole way. just slip your fu@#ing auto into "2" godammit.......
adelaide drivers are not perfect by any means but they breach less of my 5 golden rules less often than you're average newie driver.......
ahhhh that better........
matty.

Oh yes merging. That's my biggest hate.
I give the stupid arseholes at least 2 car lengths to merge into, yet they only do so if they don't see another opening they can create by pushing in further up.
But sometimes it works out good.
Like last friday on my way home from uni I let two cars merge infront of my (my personal limit), but some stupid bitch decides she'll push in as well, so yea, whatever. But then she decides to fly on over and push in into the right hand lane, (yes, typical). But the thing is, the traffic was under speed by at least 20km/h (freeway 100 zone), and she had just put herself into the slow lane. ![Very Happy](images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif)
So as we keep going, those in the right lane became a distant memory.....

stacked my racer doing about 50-60 kmh around a round-a-bout
briused most of my right side and butt
shreadded the shyte outta several layers of skin on right leg knee arm elbow and hands( even thou i was wearing long sleave shirt and jeans )
suprisingly for this happening in bansktown i had several ppl stop and get outta their cars to ask if im ok and offer assitance ( muchly appreicated ) only to encounter a bunch of unaustralian idiotic morons coming home a few days later from gf's on a train out of rush hour to ensure adequate seating to keep my leg streached out and flat and were unable to comprehend this
simpsons style morale to this story
homer = exercise doesnt pay
marge = you find help where you dont expect it
bart = your a dumbarse for coming off your bike
lisa = your a dumbarse for expecting compassion in the community
