I will be in Japan on Wednesday and im looking at picking up a 4AGE 20 valve black top or Silver top. Do either come standard with an LSD box ? If not. Is there an LSD box available with the 4AGZE? If so is it to possible to use GZE box on the 20 valve ? Would the GZE box improve or reduce performance? thanx. Any suggestions.

I believe that LSD is not a standard item but a factory option. You may find one with an aftermarket LSD. As for performance issues. Well the GZE and 20V boxes have slighty different gear ratios matched to their power band. Do a search for the ratios. There are also 6 speed gearboxes too.

If you can find a 6 speed, grab it. they are like hens teeth! They come on the black top from what i know...
If you find two, i'd like one!

AFAIK, it should fit straight up to the silvertop, but fitting it into the car might be a bit trickier. (have read that some modification is required to fit it into an AE92, so i'd assume that the same is true for an AE82).
Performance-wise it would be all good though.

Blacktop is a longer box because of the sixth ratio. They will both fit. The E51 (GZE box) is not a straight fit and weighs around 22kg more than the 20V boxes....20V boxes have a shorter final drive of around 4.5:1, so thats what you want. You can tell its LSD by spinning both shafts , they should spin the same way in neutral. And you need the Driveshafts too, the Inner CV joint is different on the LSD box.
