hi,i was wondering if anyone has tried to fit the st185 front twin spot calipers and rotors onto a standard st162 14"x5.5 rim on a st162.(of course).i know the rotors and calipers will go on with slight modiications (bending out the stone guard for the discs), but do i need to change my rims? has anyone done this?
(the rims in question are the ones on my car,pic in avatar)
thanks in advance

I have done the conversion. I am still running on my 14x6. I didn't upgrade the rotors, i am still useing the ST162 rotors. If you don't upgrade the rotors it should be fine, other wise i think u will have to increase the size of the rims to atleast 15".

I put the gt4 brakes(11" rotors) on my car (st183) and only had 14" rims on so I can't see a problem for a st162, from what i know you only need bigger rims if you go the st205 brakes(mmmm nice)which need 16".

i'm about to place a st185 3s-gte engine into my st162, and would very much like to know this as well? umm if they fit under 14's thats sick. i got 15's but my spear is a stock 14in. also my next question is does the twin piston calipers that come with the st185 half cut that i'm getting do they bolt stright up to the st162 caliper postions???? would be very goo if they do .

3S-GE_Man : Short answer -> yes they bolt straight up, but I think you may need to modify the dust shield?

I have 165 Twin Piston calipers on mine
I did have to "modify" the dust shield with some tin snips But the torque plate holes matched perfectly.
Standard rotors worked like a charm

apparently jap spec st185 calipers were narrower and just fitted under a 14" rim using the st185 rotor, but I am not sure of this it's easier to use the calipers on your standard rotors.
I have ST165 calipers on mine as well and yeah you just had to trim away a bit of the dust shield and the bolted straight on.
