Ok guys, i have an SC14, that i want to put on my honda civic. Now the problem arises that honda engines spin in the wrong direction. will the SC14 still work spinning the opposite way to normal if i just change which side i use as inlet and outlet?

Just an idea, but if your going to all the trouble of fitting a supercharger to your car obviously your will need to fabricate brackets and possibly another pulley on the crank to goto the charger.
Why not run two extra pulleys, one above the charger one below so the belt runson the other side of the s/c pulley.
Talk to an engineer, im sure you could come up with a better idea than running the charger backwards.

SC12/SC14 are Rootes type superchargers. They are air pumps. If you run a pump backwards it pumps the other way. I don't know how easy it is to swap in and out on the Toyota SC's. The other problem may be the gearing that joins the two rotors - it probably won't like turning backwards (helical cut gears and reversed thrust angles = bad).
As others have suggested there may be solutions involving reversed drives etc but why torture yourself - just put a turbo on it.

Swap the gears all you want, they drive the rotors which compress the air to give you boost. now these rotors are designed to spin ONE way and one way only.... So running them backwardas is fraught with danger.

this shows the gears of an sc12. If i switched the sides that the gear are on and ran the unit backwards, would it be fine then??
the car is a 1981 2nd gen civic. Theres enough room to mount the blower, but the damn engine spins the wrong way.
