In Qld I think it takes 3 years from the date you loose it! But it only takes 3 months to get all of them back if you loose them all! Does'nt really make sense does it?

really? if you lose your lisence by points, you can re-apply in 3 months?!? I thought you could only go for a temp lisence or some such..
and how on earth did you lose 11 points?! although admittedly, I could easily be 9 points down, if ever I got caught

When you loose all your points, you only have to fill in the form saying you wont drive! Then after the 3 months you can just start driving again! You dont have to reply!
This could be wrong, I was told this by a mate thats just gone through this process!

When I lost my license the first time it was a 3month sit out. I had to go and do my learners Q&A to get a new license (12points back!) The next time was for 6 months and the same thing again. The next time it was for 12 months and again, I had to do the test and get a new photo and stuff for a new license. I have 4 old licenses with holes punched in them Let me just say though, I've only ever been booked in the Sydney/Newcastle metro/suburbs areas twice. Once on my P's late for work doing 78 in a 60 zone and once about 2 years ago in the National Park near the turn off to Garie during a Police blitz. The majority were picked up while cruising back to Port Macquarie after work at 3:30am on a Wednesday when you would pass 5 cars in an hour! (I used to work a 3 day 12hr shift in Sydney)

those are the fines that piss me off the most blatant revenue raising. tho a friend did get let off the other night for doing 90+ in a 60 zone.

Lucky bastard!! hahaha
Newcastle is fully copped out these days thanks to being host to a shitload of street drags 30 years ago down Hunter street (yep, I guess it never really stopped :)
speaking of Hunter Street, does anyone remember a song I think is called "Never let a chance go by" which involves a dude cruising down Hunter St. and a big Hells Angel biker??
The only time I got off lightly was when I was giving it a blast around a few bends past a hockey field in Port Macquarie (130 in non populated 60k zone) then an unmarked got me as I was slowing just after the s-bends.
He said he got me doing 92 and asked why I was speeding...I just shrugged and said "well you know how it is, been doing the speed limit all day but had to give it a quick blast" He was looking at the GT-FOUR Group A Rallye on the back (not many in Port Macquarie) while writing the ticket. He tossed the license and the ticket in the window and said take it easy bud, there's a lot of old folk in this area. I was stoked to see an under 15kph fine!

lucky... I've never been let off for speeding. in fact, only time I ever got done for speeding, was given a 15-30 fine when it should have been 0-15.
I'm still pissed about that :-
