My cars getting 15 ltres per 100km.
Something tells me it shouldn't be drinking so much fuel. What type of milage do other people with 22r-e's get so i have something to compare to?

i've been measuring it for several tank fulls of petrol now.
When i drove it like a granny i got 300km from 45ltre, this was with about 100km freeway driving and mainly city driving.
For a 4 cyl thats pretty pathetic so I'm wondering if its worth getting it looked at or if its normal

the 22r-e is a bit of a guzzler (my old one was anyway)
My 1jz (with ~200rwkw) uses less fuel than my 22r-e did!
It's an old, dirty, torquey motor... that may be a little high, but around 13l/100kms would be pretty decent economy

The old 18r-c got about 15+l/100km
the 18R-GEU gets about 13+l/100km
In comparison the 5.7l Ute gets about 13-14l/100km

You can't beat technology, especially modern EFI.
My 1G-GTE uses about 11.7L/100km with me thrashing it everywhere.

Re: Is this normal economy?
No this is...
6.7 L/100km with airconditioning on and 4 people + luggage in car (packed to the roof). Consistent to 1 decimal place over 5 tanks of fuel (mostly highway)
Unfortunately not from my JZA70, but the '95 1.6L pulsar Q runabout.
The supra runs at about 11 L/100km highway i have squeezed nearly 600k's out of a tank a couple of times - without pushing my luck, and I dont bother working out city or hard driving figures, too depressing.

My 21R-C uses about 11l/100km. Now I've wound some uber timing into it to suit the more than 89RON fuel it's getting I'm hoping for mid-10's.
Before it got set back to 5 degrees it used to average about 10-10.5l/100km. Thats a lot of normal highway driving, with blasts in between.
