Yum. Nice power curve as well. Not some idiotic thing that is just for dynos.

i dunno about that hey
i mean, it could be a great graph, but there just isnt the info there on other engine parameters. the x axis is just 'test time' and if you look, it starts around 16 seconds. what rpm is this corresponding to? dunno... it could be the very top end of its rpm band, with a sustained run of 8000rpm being plotted, who knows.
still, hats off to anything that makes 1000hp - however it manages it

yeah ed, but compared to some other "dyno queens" out there such as that Blacka dn Purple 7MGTE MK3 two auto salons ago where the graph looks like an "L" on it's back, it's actually quite good.

i think youre missing my point
take that dyno queen 7mgte, get it up and running to 8000rpm, hold it there for a few secs at WOT, and let the 'test time' tick over. capture that part of the output graph, and low and behold youd get something would look like this:
all im saying is there simply isnt enough info provided on that graph to conclude what it is, in fact, representing.
not that what ive stated above is the 'only' explanation either, just a suggestion for the purpose of demonstration. either way, for a 3.OL turbo engine to make 1000hp @ around 35psi its output curve is going to 'have' to be skewed

taken from the description of the dyno run...
"Larry slowly brings the car up to the proper RPM to let it all ride. As he hit it... blah blah"
which supports my call that they got the engine up to the rpm band they wanted, and then just gassed it and held it. i mean, all they were looking for was to break 1000hp. its not a normal WOT power run dyno curve that you can compare to other curves youve probably seen.

36psi on a 3L, with 95% VE = maximum of 1034Nm
he claimed 746 ftlbs = 1012 Nm..... possible, but would have to be bloody efficient to get there.
with 1012Nm, the 980hp (731kw) should be gotten at 6794rpm
oh wait, thats RWHP
hmm for the 1156 fw HP = 863kw = 8018 rpm....
it is 'just' theoretically possible to get this much power at the rpm he states...
wether he can achieve that efficiency at such high boost is another matter, but it certainly is possible...
so.. is that 16 seconds the amount of lag
AND it was only there for a second at most... i guess you don't want to hold it there for too long or that video will happen
