what head is better for t/charging gze? Mon, 10 May 2004 23:35 Go to next message
Hey guys, im sure this has been covered a few times before but was just wondering what was better for a turbo gze, big port or small port? and can you reuse a metal trd head gasket, because i have the small on their now, and would put the big on if its worth it..

cheers for any help.

Laughing

IMO small port head is good for lower boost applicatons and bigport for BIG boost applications.
but if you did a search on threads covering this topic you will find that everyone has their own opinion on it.. Razz

i have re-used a 3 peice metal headgasket on my current 4agte. i pulled the metal layers apart, cleaned them up and put it back together re-layering the metal layers with Hylomar.

just becarful of which way you go, the inlet manifolds are different on each and wont swap over.

why's that? it only the inlet ports that are different, not the exhaust.

i use a bigport head on my 4agte. Smile

you can swap inlet manifolds over, well i know you can use bigport manifold on small port head atleast. and you dont need to weld tvis holes, just remove the plate and it bolts up. i was considering going bigport head but i already have had head work done to the small port and a HKS metal head gasket which i dont wanna get rid of or have to re-use.
