yeah the sound of a sc12 on a 2tg/3tc sounds awesome...
how hard would it be to hook one up through twin carbs?

Yes it has been done and you'll find plenty of discussion on this very topic if you do a search.

With the pricing of EFI, why would anyone consider using the carbs?

prefer carbs, they are already on and if tuned right apparently are nearly as good as efi.
got the know-how here to get some carbs going well, but efi?
not a clue!
surely it cant be that much harder to set up a sc on carbs than efi?

I'w guessing it would be the same as setting up a turbo on carbs, New jets for carbs.

???

yeah finding some maifolds would be the tricky bit i think, i would have to run the sc sucking through the carbies...
havent built the engine yet but knowing if supercharging it in the future would be a good idea would be good to know so i have an idea of what compression i am after before i buy some pistons.

could you run the s/c as a blow through??? better for fuel mixture? bit harder, but better (using comparison of turbo on a carb)

never heard of that working?
carbs arent air tight, not designed for that kind of pressure, and im pretty sure the sc would wind up blowing your petrol out of the carbi back to your fuel tank...?
i know one of my dads old race cars was running a supercharger sucking through twin 45 webers and it seemed to work really well! so it can be done, just a question of can you find the parts i guess...

Draw through = vacuum cleaner.

Carbs if set up correctly will run nearly as good as EFI under some conditions. EFI - if you never jump in and have a go, your experience will become no further advanced, and once you've done it you'll most likely never go back.

Daihatsu Charade's have been running 3 Cyl Carb fed turbo engines for years. They are blow through, and if boost is kept at the factory level 6-8 psi, they live a fairly long life. Boost 'em up, and watch the carby blow a gasket or two, due to warpage of the carby top plate.

Regards Chuck.

Yeh EFI from the 70's is kinda scary if you ask me... (I know nothing...)

How in the hell would you go about making up a manifold to suit a Suck Thru config S/C?

I can't get my head around it!

I think the easiest way would be to use a 2T-GEU inlet. Remove the throttle body and replace it with a pipe from the supercharger. Then mount the carby on the inlet of the supercharger and hey presto, you have a suck-through supercharged 2T-G! Unfortunately you won't be able to use an intercooler with a setup like this so you'll be limited to fairly low boost.

Thanks MAte!

I'm not looking for huge amounts of boost anyway.

Over and Out!
