I've got a KE30 corolla and looking to fit a better engine then the K-series and different to the 4A. Has anyone fitted the
1GG-TE or ZE to one of these. I'm hoping to get some pics to see how other people have done engine mounts,, and whether the 5 spd will fit the standard tunnel. Any help would be appreciated.

I think your major problem is going to be space, specifically length. The KE30 doesn't exactly have a large engine bay, considering a 4A tends to fill them up quite nicely! I suggest you spend some time with your measuring tape before you go any further with this idea.

i have seen a pic of a ke30 with a 1ggte? i think,or maybe 1jz, it was definately a 6 cylinder, it appeared to be a neat conversion, but i couldnt see clearly wether the fire wall was modded or not. width wise it was no worries, i definately looked cool! grab a tape measure, youll soon see if its a good option or not.

i would say at a minimum you will need a reasonably thin intercooler and radiator, so you'll have to ditch the current twin core copper and go single core alum.
amazing things have been stuffed under corolla bonnets, and i'f you're willing to 'massage' the firewall a little to make it fit then i reckon you just might get it in.
just....

You will probably have problems with the trans tunnel too.

Thanks for everyones help. The 3sge is stretching the budget way too far, although i'm sure the end results would be good.

Thanks for the pics. Still contemplating the best way to go. The car is LPG so i don't need to worry about EFI fuel pumps, wiring, etc, just run a Gas Research throttle body.

I've heard of a couple of 1G swaps, and I know it can be stuffed in there, but I can also promise you it won't be as neat/easy as a 4A (duh..). Still, I'd be interested to see what you do with it, plus remember that if you use a GRA carb, you'll want something to control timing Oh, and wiring isn't really that hard!
