KE55 drums - bolt on to KE35 diff?

Would anyone know if the KE55 drums (BW diff) would bolt onto a KE35 diff (frontloader)? If not, any ideas as to any cheap brake upgrades for the rear of a KE35? I'd be guessing Celica TA22 drums (frontloader diff) wouldn't bolt on would they...

I'd like to keep my frontloader diff for now (i like my 4.3 ratio and I like being able to change centers easily). Also have a diff upgrade planned sometime in the not-too-distant future (Celica TA22 or R31), so don't want to spend too much money on this diff but would like to beef up the rear brakes for now...

fook, don't bother with the D series TA22 diff mate, not worth it.
get a T series diff from a RA23 or a T18 - much better - and LSD will go in there too (i got my LSD yesterday (thanks kristian))

only the very early TA22 diffs are D series, most are T series

Grega: No, not using a D series, was going to get a T series (some TA22's came with it, or at least that's what I'm led to believe anyway). I actually HAD a D series diff with leaf spring mounts welded on and everything, but have since sold it.
Either that or a shortened R31 diff. Both options (with LSD) seem to be around the $1000-$1300 mark, and the R31 option will give me disc brakes on the rear too, not to mention the LSD cones for the BW center are a feckload cheaper ($140 vs $1300).

ah ok fook last we spoke you had the D series diff...
hmmm still reckon you could do it cheaper. i picked up a T302 diff for the sillicar for $0, and, well, i got my 2 way LSD for $500, so need to put them both together, then, using the rt141 disc brake setup, apply that to the diff and i have an LSD with disc brakes for lets say ~$700...

Cheapest I've been able to find the 2-way LSD's is about $700 (cheapest LSD a 1-way for $650 second hand), I can get the T housing for free but then will have to still get gears, axles, bearings etc, plus welding of mounts onto the diff. Then I'll have to get the disc brake setup, and even assuming I reuse the calipers and discs in whatever condition they come in, I'd still be looking at ~$1000 or more.
Someone I know has just put an R31 diff into a KE55, new LSD cones, new bearings, new slotted discs, rebuilt calipers, shortened with the leaf spring mounts welded on for $1000. Admittedly the ratio in it isn't what I'd like (3.9) but I'm sure for the extra cost of the slotted discs (I'm only looking for standard discs) I could get the 4.1 ratios out of the Pintara diff...
And then in both cases I'll have to still get my tailshaft modified to fit, so in both caes I recon I'm still looking at the $1000-$1300 mark. Except on one hand I get a Celica diff with 2nd hand LSD in questionable condition, 2nd hand calipers and discs, and on the other hand I get an R31 diff with brand new everything...
I dunno.
