Hey dudes,
after having a serious problem with my hyundai excel ive decided to sell it for $2000. Im now looking for a cheap reliable car to get me to and from tafe and daily chores. Im not looking for something thats a serious head turner just a economical reliable car. I have so far added these on my list on what to look at
* Toyota Camry 87 - 90 (poverty pack)
* Holden Gemini 80 - 84
* Twinky rolla (if i can find one)
* Ford Laser Bubble 88 - 89
thats all i can really think of. Im open to any suggestions and your suggestions will be gladly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ahmed

You do know everyone is going to say Camry. Personally I'd go RA65 Celica. You'd get something with air-con, power steering, not bad at all.

not a bad list of cars for runs arounds...have you thought about the ke series of rollas? 4k engines can take a beating
can you be a little more specific in terms of max age of the car. Do you want the mod cons like air con? etc etc

GET A CAMRY! by far the best one in the list along with rollas this two cars are very reliable personally I'd perfer a Camry but I have been brought up around these cars I haven't meant a person yet to say there unreliable and same as the Corolla's i like Corolla's too but reckon the Camrys look nicer if you get a camry get one with a manual because those things do have a bit of go about them people who say there slow have obvisilly never driven a 87-92 Camry with a 3S-FE and a manual there not lightning fast but there not slow either but defently either way get a Camry or Corolla with twin cam,efi and a 5-spd manual box I know what they are like my parents have owned on for 12 years and still going strong and i also own one its a very reliable car

sv21 or an ae82 - good idea.
ke laser - ok, rust, ignition problems, starting problems. rear camber problems.
gemini, ok, but i wouldn't go RB. stay with a TE or TF.

I would go the Camry, but it depends on your budget. finding a good one for the trade in price you got for your excel will be hard. The are good cars, reliable fairly economical, not too flash or fast, but lots of partys available and very reliable. Im thining about selling mine, $4,000.
