HELP - 1JZ is burning oil Thu, 13 May 2004 06:16 Go to next message
yes, 1JZ burning oil, NOT CT12's blowing oil..

i've changed the turbos twice, new seals, steel wheels, the lot.
the car is still blowing white smoke
new valve stem seals, car still blowing smoke...

spark plugs 5 and 6 are dirty with oil, clean them.. drive it.. burns oil and they go dirty again...

what's been checked:
Turbos (replaced),
MAP sensor (voltage checked),
fuel pressure (perfect),
vacuum hoses (not blocked),
PCV (functioning fine),
valve stem seals (replaced),
compression (equal on all 6 and completely normal)

stuffed rings would result in dropped compression
cracked piston would result in dropped compression and power
blown head gasket would result in engine heat rising up

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS PEICE OF CRAP!

Have you tried taking the PCV pipe off the intake mainfold (and leaving it off)? to make sure it's not some dicky PCV thing.

Although the continually oily plugs on 5th and 6th would still be a mystery??? Split headgasket at an oil gallery between 5th and 6th cyl?

A compression test, will NOT tell you if your oil control rings are shagged!

yeah i realise it could be bottom or middle ring that is cracked..

the fact that it is two cylinders makes me hope it's the head gasket inbetween the two cylinders oil gallery...

will find out soon!

thanks for help
