The rear strut rods on my 87 AW11 SC are BENT!?!?! Both upwards... but not both the same. The ones on my 89 NA are straight as. In the AW11 EPC the rods look straight. I am confused! Can anyone check their SC AW11 and confirm if these are sposed to be straight or bent... Next question... how the F*** do I straighten them?

Sorry the term is rods not bars.
They trail fron the chassis on the rear to the lower control arm.

I don't know if it would be a good idea to straighten them if they are bent... once metal has been reshaped its nowhere near as strong as it used to be!

you dont mean the rear tie rod tubes? part #48730 group in this pic below?

some people seem to think they can use them as a jacking point.. Rolling Eyes

replace them, dont try to straighten them.

thanks feral4... that exactly what looks like has happened to them.
I gotta put the car back together quick so i'm gonna vice them straight tommorrow and start trying to source some new ones. Huh... I'll even ring Toyota for a price on some newies.
