can you be really nice and take a measurement from where the bellhousing bolts on to the centre of the shifter? I need to know if I'm going to be able to mount this in my '86. Cheers.

Is what they call a steel sandwhich plate W58?
W57 and W58 are the same pattern are they not?

Yep, that has the (black) steel sandwich plate. the only way to ensure it is a W58 is to count the fifth gear ratio, and even then it is difficult as you're dealing with 1/10th of a revolution on the output shaft difference between W57 and W58. you need to take the sellers word it is what they say it is!

wraith,... its 45.5, or just under 18 inch,.......
that's from the front of the box (without bellhousing) to the center of the gearstick,....let me know,.......cheers.
