hi all. i would like to fit a 5 spd to my ke20, but i dont want to cut the floor! i was wondering, can i fit the extension housing and shifter from my original 4 spd on to a 5 spd, to keep the shifter position in the same spot?
any help appreciated

Quote: | KE1x have the shifter all the way forward, KE2x 3x and 5x have the shifter in the middle, KE7x have the shifter at the back. Most people tend to prefer the 7x shifting position, even when placed in the earier cars and a hole cut in the floor. Extension housings between 4 and 5 speed are not interchangeable.

you basically just need a pre KE70 5 speed and you are set.

yeah, i wasnt sure because the only time ive ever done this swap before was into a ke55. I fitted a 5k van gearbox, and the shifter was a bit further back, not heaps, but i dont want to cut my ke20 at all.
thanks fellas
