Faaaaarrrrrkkkkk!!!!!! That is wicked... Thank god it's got no roof... I dunno how someone could fit in one of those... I stood up next to a normal cappuccino and the roof line was at my waist... No Joke!!! They are tiny things and looks like their smallness is being incorperated into their engines... 1.6 TT Intercooled V8... Awesome...

Don't get too excited, that was only a demo model that will never make it into production. Unfortunately.

Geezus. That thing would rev.
But would you really want to pay v8 registration on a 1.6 litre? Sounds like it should have plenty of torque for when it's off boost though.

Unfortunately, those pics have been around for a few years now. It appeared in the Wheels car magazine & was called the C2 if I do recall.
Let's just hope Daihatsu is smart & brings the baby Audi tadpole (the 'C' Open) to Oz. Too bad it's FWD though ...
Link as follows:-

P.S. Did I also see a pic of the C-Open in one of those club cruises? How the hell did it get there???

It'll have the torque of a 1600cc engine - What's the number of cylinders got to do with it?

If that thing was 32 vlave, could you imaging the size of the valve's. Imagine building the thing but damn would it rev.
I though quad cam mazda 1.8 v6 was impressive.
Actually, wern't the Honda F1 turbo's quad cam v8 1.5 litre around 7/800Hp?

Can you imagine the rev capacity for that thing? The stroke would be tiny...! 10000rpm here we come!

Dodgy_Haro, you did see a pic of that on one of the cruise photos. It was one of the gong cruises. We'd just come out of Jamberoo mountain? and there was this big line of traffic banked up. As we drove past, that little Daihatsu was sitting on the side of the road with a couple of people in it. Looked like they were filming for an ad.
I was wondering what it was.

10,000rpm for street and 13,14,000 for race use.
Still couldn't imagine what it would sound like. Deep and lound, or high pitched screemer?
Probably be a screemer

Not only that, but they used road car engine blocks (M10), as they had been 'seasoned' , ie heated up and cooled down lots of times in regular use, which strengthens the block. It is the same block in my 318i.
Nobody noticed the other outstanding feature of the C2... 16inch WIDE tyres. Does that leave room for a diff ?

i know a guy that races a special BMW 2002 that came from factory with fibreglass panels apparently there are 13 in australia... he says that this is the same engine block they used for the f1 cars he recons they sleved them to reduce capacity to 1500cc....
sorry to go the topic
